La Forêt de Pan
2020
Acrylic ink & pastel on paper
12"X16"
I often employ mythological and historical characters in my paintings to question our current state of affairs. With this piece, I celebrate nature's beauty and might with the ancient Greek god Pan playing his flute to the spirits of the forest. Considering the global resurgence of nature during the Coronavirus pandemic, I was inspired by thoughts of the god of the wilds, once pronounced dead at the beginning of the 1st Century AD, returning to the woods in 2020.
